"Seriously, you can't go three feet out of town without tripping over a group of bandits literally howling for my blood, I've got kids, man."

When I married my lizardwife, I didn’t expect anyone to show up for the wedding, but just because I helped that one cat the chapel was full of Khajit. How does that even work lol, their not allowed into the town.

It always struck me as amusing that city guards in almost all the RPGs are incredibly tough, like they'd spent a lifetime adventuring and had finally opted for the retirement package.

"Just think!" I used to muse, "after I retrieve the Foozle and use it to slaughter the world-threatening evil, I might join the hallowed ranks of the guys watching over 5-pfennig transactions in the marketplace."

There would be a ton of families in Skyrim if this was true.

I always thought it was a joke because in skyrim there isn't knee protection when you are fully armored

Safer, yeah. Until that one day when that girl walks into town with her horned helmet, kills a few chickens and starts shouting gibberish.

Arrow in the knee does not equal getting married. That was a myth that someone made up and now people keep spreading it around Reddit.

I don't think it means getting married

I saw the guy who wrote that line talk about it, and I think it just means he literally got shot in the knee

Plus, people don't get down on a knee and present a ring to propose in Skyrim, they just wear an amulet of Mara.

Stable wage, sure. I don't see you owning a luxurious house in almost every hold of Skyrim.

Theres a webcomic thats called Peerless Dad thats all about this. Great fighter who ends up being a single dad of triplets who constantly refuses dangerous and more lucrative job offers for the stability and safety of being a common gate guard.

Is hilarious. By the same guy who did red storm i believe.

Weird then that there are always way more gaurds than there are buildings in any given city or town
